It’s harvest season!

We have sold out of the available bottles for 2020! Due to COVID we are experiencing delays in shipping for our 2020 harvest in Sicily. Please check back for future updates.

We are not a big operation. We use local workers to harvest the olives by hand, without big machinery. Our trees only produce 150 bottles per year, and whatever our family does not use, we offer to our extended family - you!

It’s not a family secret. It’s generations of honest Sicilian organic olive oil production.

Every bottle of Cilona’s Sicilian Extra Virgin Olive Oil holds years of family history and friendship in a little village we call Cianciana, Sicily. Olives are a staple crop in our hometown. We honor the ground they grow on and yield our oil with passion for quality. From tending to our olive groves to bottling and shipping, we make sure that our freshly pressed organic olive oil reaches your table the way we enjoy it in ours.

Nowhere else but home.

La Comune di Cianciana is a small landlocked town in the province of Agrigento, in the region of Sicily. It is located in the middle valley of the Platani River.

Known for its diverse population, beautiful climate, and fertile soils, the Sicilian region takes pride in its strong cultural traditions. The food we grow in our backyards, the stories we share over lunch, and the quality of ingredients we serve; these are among the hallmarks of Sicilian life.

Olive trees are sacred to Sicilian communities. There are several olive varieties across the region and harvest season commonly starts in early autumn. The warm, Southwestern Sicilian weather has blessed Cianciana with vibrant summers, popular among tourists — and what locals call the “lava soil,” where we grow our olive trees. The area’s prolonged dry growing season gives character to Cilona’s organic extra virgin olive oil. With a minimal amount of rainfall, our olives contain less moisture and yield oil that is rich and fruity, with light fragrances and a distinctive peppery flavor.
